Runa TTS 2.0 for NVDA

This add-on enables NVDA to work with AccessMind's Runa TTS speech synthesizer.

Runa TTS 2.0 is a new NVDA add-on identity. Its internal add-on and synthesizer ID is runaTts2, so it is separate from earlier Runa NVDA add-ons and can coexist with them during migration/testing. In NVDA's synthesizer list it is displayed as Runa TTS 2.0.

Requirements

Install the current Runa TTS Windows runtime first. The add-on loads RunaTTS.dll from the installation directory stored under:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\AccessMind\RunaTTS\InstallDir

The older ReadSpeaker-specific key, and the pre-unification AccessMind LLC spellings of both, are checked only as upgrade fallbacks. A local lib\x64 or lib\x86 directory beside the low-level add-on module may be used for development testing.

• Uses the engine-neutral Runa client, session, voice, event, and licensing APIs.
• Supports ReadSpeaker, Vocalizer, and Runa Profile voices exposed by the installed runtime.
• Preserves Runa Profile and Smart Switch routing. The add-on does not perform its own language switching.
• Leaves punctuation, numbers, dictionaries, ReNikud, sentence pauses, profile routing, and other text-processing policy to the Runa runtime.
• Supports NVDA-owned voice/profile selection, rate, pitch, volume, indexes, cancellation, pause/resume, phoneme fallbacks, and streamed PCM audio.
• Supports NVDA capital-pitch cues while keeping Runa Text Core responsible for capital-letter pronunciation.
• Recovers numeric periods that NVDA may localize before the synth driver (for example 0 נקודה.5 back to 0.5) so version and decimal chains reach Runa correctly.
• Provides an on-demand License status command while leaving activation/deactivation and entitlement policy to AccessMind Runtime / Runa TTS.

Ownership of settings

Runa itself remains authoritative for voice profiles, Smart Switch, language routing, punctuation and number processing, dictionaries, ReNikud, sentence pauses, licensing, and backend selection. The NVDA add-on intentionally keeps only controls that belong to the NVDA host.
