PrayerTime (NVDA Add-on) — Help

Lightweight add-on for blind users to manage Adhan alerts, manual Dhikr/Quran playback, and more — with no overlapping audio and optional Repeat/Auto-Next for manual mode.

Features

Prayer time alerts with flexible audio mode (Default/Custom/Random/Unified) + optional post-Adhan Dua (except sunrise).
Manual playback for Quran/Dhikr with:
Repeat current file (optional).
Auto-Next within the same folder (optional).
Exclusive audio: current manual playback stops any active alert first.
Extra alerts (optional): approach, multiple pre-prayer alerts, Iqama, morning/evening Dhikr, wake-up Dhikr, and Ramadan suite (Suhoor/Imsak/Iftar).
Save formats dialog (Modeless) with independent formats for prayer data and city details.
Unicode-safe. Volume control with smooth transitions.

Requirements

Windows 10+, NVDA 2023.2+.
VLC installed (e.g., C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC).
Common audio formats (.mp3, .wav, …).

Installation

1) NVDA → Tools → Add-ons Manager → Install from file…

2) Select the .nvda-addon package and restart NVDA.

Quick Start

1) Pick your country/city in add-on settings.

2) Enable Adhan playback and choose a voice mode (Default/Custom/Random/Unified).

3) Use Test Adhan to confirm audio.

4) For manual playback, use the add-on commands to play Quran/Dhikr files from your folders.

Note: When an alert (Adhan, Suhoor, …) starts, ongoing manual playback is paused/stopped, then resumes appropriately to avoid overlap.

Manual Playback & Controls

Repeat current file: replay when it ends.
Auto-Next: move to the next file in the same folder.
Manual-only: Repeat/Auto-Next affect manual playback only — not Adhan alerts.

Save Formats Dialog

Choose separate formats for:

Prayer data file (e.g., .txt / .json / .ini / .db*),
City details (may differ).

* .db appears when SQLite is available.

Troubleshooting

No audio: verify VLC is installed; try another MP3/WAV file.
Adhan not playing: enable Adhan playback and check voice mode; ensure audio files exist.
Overlap: the add-on guards against overlap; if you notice any, use Stop all and try again.
Help page not opening: package must include doc/style.css and doc/en/readme.html; manifest.ini must contain docFileName = readme.html.

Privacy

100% local. Error logs are kept locally inside the add-on folder.
