An NVDA add-on that allows you to create, modify, import, and export notes quickly and efficiently.
.ndn files..nvda-addon file.To use the add-on, follow these steps:
Tools > Note Diary. You can assign a keyboard shortcut in Preferences > Input Gestures under the Note Diary category.More options menu button and select New diary, or use CTRL+N in the diary tree. Enter the name of the diary (e.g., "My personal diary", "Python Course").More options > New chapter, or use CTRL+P. Give the chapter a name (e.g., "Class 01 Hello world", "07/05/2025").Enter, or Applications / Shift+F10 and select Edit. Start writing in the multiline field.Alt+G or navigate with Tab to the Save button and press it. If there are changes and you close the window, you will be asked if you want to save.It is a tree view that allows you to navigate through diaries and chapters. Diaries are at level 0. Use the up/down arrows to move, Enter or left/right arrows to expand/collapse diaries. You can also navigate with the letters of the alphabet.
When you press this button or focus it and press the down arrow, the following options appear:
.ndn file..ndn file for backup or sharing.About... (basic information about the add-on) and Documentation (opens this file in the browser).After the diary list, you will find a read-only edit box with basic information about the selected diary or chapter.
Closes the add-on window. You can also use the Escape key.
Ctrl+N: Creates a new diary.Ctrl+P: Creates a new chapter in the selected diary.Delete: Deletes a diary (with all its chapters) or a chapter.Enter: Opens/closes a diary; opens the editing window for a chapter.F5: Refreshes the window.F2: Renames the selected diary or chapter.F1: Opens this document.Applications or Shift+F10: Opens a context menu for the selected diary or chapter.Alt+M: Opens the More options menu.Alt+D: Focuses the diary list.Alt+I: Focuses the information editing box.Alt+C: Closes the add-on window.Alt+N: Focuses the editing field.Alt+P: Copies all the chapter content to the clipboard.Alt+G: Saves the chapter.Alt+C: Closes the chapter dialog.In the NVDA options, under Note Diary, you can enable or disable the add-on's sounds. When activated, sounds will be played on events such as changing the diary or chapter.
