Introduction

Welcome to Contact Manager for NVDA!
This add-on was specially developed for people with visual impairments, allowing them to organize and access contact information with practicality, accessibility, and autonomy.

With it, you can:

• Add, edit, and delete contacts;
• Open your contacts in WhatsApp;
• Search for names and data quickly;
• Import and export lists in CSV format;
• Customize phone number formatting;
• Store data in a custom directory;
• Use a simple and accessible keyboard-driven interface.

Installation

1. In NVDA, open the Tools menu and access the Add-on Store.
2. In the Available Add-ons tab, type "Contact Manager" in the search field.
3. Select the add-on and press Enter or click Apply, then choose Install.
4. Restart NVDA to complete the installation.

Settings

Access:
NVDA > Preferences > Settings... > Contact Manager for NVDA

The following options are available:

1. Country Code allows you to select the international code to be used in WhatsApp number formatting. By default, the selected code is (+55) for Brazil.

2. Mask for phone fields Applies a mask using # to format numbers. The default mask is based on the Brazilian format.

3. Complete agenda deletion (Alt+T)
   Allows you to remove all contacts at once.

4. Import contacts via CSV (Alt+I)
   Allows you to import contacts from compatible CSV files.

5. Export agenda to CSV (Alt+X)
   Exports all contacts to a CSV file.

6. Database path Defines a personalized directory to save the agenda data.

Access

You can open the Contact Manager in the following ways:

1. Shortcut: Windows+Alt+L
2. NVDA Menu: NVDA+N > Tools > Contact Manager

The main window allows you to:

• Register, edit, remove, and search for contacts;
• Import/export contacts;
• Delete the entire agenda (optional in settings).
• By pressing Enter on the contact list, the contact is opened in WhatsApp. If the mobile field is empty, NVDA will announce this condition.

Registering a New Contact

1. Open the Manager (Windows+Alt+L or via the NVDA menu);
2. Press Alt+N to add;
3. Fill in the fields and press Alt+O to save or Alt+C to cancel.

Note:
Use the Enter key to navigate between fields. Using Tab may cause unpredictable behavior. You can also now paste numbers directly from the clipboard.

Editing a Contact

1. Select a contact from the list;
2. Press Alt+E or F2;
3. Edit the data and press Alt+O to save or Alt+C to cancel.

Searching Contacts

In the main window:

1. Type the search term (name, mobile, landline, or email);
2. Select the corresponding field;
3. Press Alt+P or the Enter key to search;
4. Press Alt+A or F5 to refresh the list.

If no results are found, a message will be displayed.

To edit or remove, you must first select a contact.

Tip: Use Esc or Alt+F4 to close any window.
