AcapelaInfovox3

Modified AcapelaInfovox3 driver to use some Infovox3 voices in NVDA screen access program.
The driver works with Infovox3 voices released in 2015 under SAPI5, and only with thirty-one voices of a certain version.

Author of the modification

The driver is provided without built-in voices, but with added language modules for 10 languages.

There are not many voices, as well as languages, only 31.

Note 1.

You can only use voices released in 2015 for SAPI5, subsequent updated voices are not suitable for the driver.
In search of more voices and languages, many updated versions of these voices released from 2016 to 2022 were checked, but not which voices did not launch.

It is also not possible to use voices from the site Acapela-nvda.com or obtained from the Acapela TTS app for Android.

How to add a voice

Attention! The very first thing you need to install the driver. You can download the driver in the list of drivers on the page:
https://nvda.ru/acapela-infovox3
If you are already on this
page, then see the list below.

After installing the driver, you need to add the voices you need yourself, we do it this way:

\1. Download the archive with the voice from the list on the page Acapela infovox3
For example , the Russian voice Alyona22k_HQ.zip

\2. Copy the archive with the voice along the way:
"
If this is a stationary version:
C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\nvda\addons\AcapelaInfovox3\synthDrivers\tts\voices"

or
"%APPDATA%\nvda\addons\AcapelaInfovox3\synthDrivers\tts\voices"

If it is a portable copy:
"userConfig\addons\AcapelaInfovox3\synthDrivers\tts\voices"

We put the archive with the voice in the folder with the desired language, then extract the contents of the archive directly into the folder with the language module.
There is a folder with voice modules in the archive, so after extraction, another folder with voice should appear in the folder of the language module, and voice files are already in it.

There is no need to extract to a new folder with the archive name, in this case
in this case, there will be a double nesting of folders.

You can extract the voices from the archives in any other place, and then move the folders with them along one of the paths suitable for your NVDA.

After completing the addition of the voice or voices, restart NVDA.

Selecting a synthesizer and voice after adding

We open the speech synthesizer selection in NVDA with the Incert+Control+S command.
Activate Acapela Infovox3.
Start the voice setting with the Incert+Control+V command.
After setting up, do not forget to save the configuration with the Incert+Control+C command.

Note 2.

The driver does not allow full language switching for most voices.
Since the driver was created in the environment of Arabic-speaking NVDA users, language switching is only available between Arabic and several English voices through a special voice switch.
In addition, among the voices there is one Arabic-English High-quality bilingual Nizar voice that can pronounce English text. If you need to read only in Arabic and English,
then just after adding this voice, in the voice settings, select the Nizar voice.

For other languages and voices, only a single mode of operation is available.

Arabic switch

You can start the Arabic switch from the NVDA menu, the AcapelaInfovox3 submenu.

Attention!

  1. In the AcapelaInfovox3 submenu, do not open the "Activate new license" option. This does not work in the modified driver.
  2. The "Arabic Switch" item will not be available if an Arabic voice is not detected.
    Therefore , in advance
place the folders with the necessary votes according to the instructions described above. See below which voices the switch supports.

After you run the "Arabic Switch" option.

The following options will be available in the switch window:

Arabic automatic switch Choose a voice dialog :
Enable checkbox unchecked
list
* heather
* Ryan
* Peter
* Tracy

After checking the Enable checkbox and selecting the second voice in the combined list, save the setting with the OK button.
To disable the switch , you need to run
re-select the Arabic switch and uncheck the Enable flag in this window.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to add all other languages and voices to this switch.

Dictionaries for voices

Dictionaries for voices are located in the NVDA user folder along the path:

"%APPDATA%\nvda\addons\AcapelaInfovox3\UserLexicons\"

This path is only available in the driver with the prefix "Mode2" modification from NVDA.RU .
And in the first modification from DroidApps, dictionaries are located along the standard path:

"C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Acapela
Group\infovox3\Userlexicons"

Where the dictionaries of the installed SAPI5 voices of Infovox3 would be located if they were installed on your PC.

Drivers with dictionary locations for these two paths will be offered to choose from.
Decide for yourself what is more convenient and suitable for you in your situation.

The dictionary for Infovox3 is suitable from Infovox2.
To use the dictionary in Infovox3, it is enough to rename the file
dictionary, for example:
Alyona22k.dic to Alyona22k_HQ.dic.

By default, after starting the driver and the selected voice, an actually empty dictionary file is created, so if necessary and there is a dictionary, we replace it ourselves.

After adding the dictionary, you need to restart NVDA.

Several links to dictionaries for the Russian voice can be found next to the link by downloading the voice itself.
There is also a dictionary for the Belarusian language.
